Overview:

Improve organizational awareness and readiness to respond

Prepare for real-world cybersecurity incidents through simulations where your key stakeholders team up to respond to cybersecurity incidents based on actual cases handled by Unit 42®. Using Unit 42 threat intelligence specific to your industry and region, you will participate in simulations with customized scenarios that are the most likely to impact your organization.

Combine the power of red and blue teaming

Your organization’s security personnel (Blue Team) will collaborate with Unit 42’s elite team of offensive security engineers (Red Team) to strategically orchestrate drills that test your network monitoring and incident response processes.

Tune defenses and get real-time feedback

Immediately understand the impact of changes to alerting or detection mechanisms. Strategically adjust capabilities to best serve your organization’s unique goals and objectives.

Identify gaps in security control coverage

Stress-test your systems and foster strong collaboration between Red and Blue Teams, enabling your organization to identify and address security control deficiencies.

Here’s what we deliver

Phishing Simulation Exercises

Phishing is the number one attack vector leveraged by threat actors to gain initial access to an organization’s environment. Unit 42 will conduct multiple phishing campaigns to test your email security controls and attempt to gain access to your environment.

Penetration Testing

After gaining initial access, Unit 42’s team of offensive security experts will leverage both manual and automated techniques to further exploit systems, elevate credentials and move deeper into the network. This includes both internal and external penetration tests.

Defense & Alerting Recommendations

Through a collaboration between Unit 42 and your security team, you will establish the ideal tuning of defensive capabilities and alerting mechanisms.

Remediation steps

You’ll receive tactical, action-oriented remediation steps to address the weaknesses, gaps and vulnerabilities discovered during Purple Team Exercises exercises.

Custom Payload Deployment

At your request, Unit 42 may develop and deploy custom payloads to achieve specific objectives or test criteria.

Test your defenses against real-world threats

Establish rules of engagement

Unit 42 will issue a pre-engagement survey to ensure alignment on scope, timeline, restrictions, limitations and objectives.

Conduct phishing campaigns

Our team will conduct a series of phishing campaigns to test the email security capabilities and employee security awareness in an attempt to gain initial access.

Exploit targets

After gaining initial access, our experts will attempt to bypass security controls using a variety of tools and techniques.

Move laterally or escalate privileges

Unit 42 will test whether we can gain access to likely attacker objectives, including gathering credentials and accessing sensitive data.

Remove any testing artifacts

Upon completion, Unit 42 will ensure that any custom or non-native code, programs, software and false user accounts are removed.

Provide findings and recommendations

We will deliver a detailed report with findings and assessments that measure the business impact. Next steps and recommendations will be included.
