Renowned Higher Education Institute Uses the Security Platform of Palo Alto Networks. Santa Clara, CA -- November 5, 2013 -- Palo Alto Networks (NYSE: PANW), the leading network security company, has been selected by the French Conservatoire national des arts et metiers, CNAM ("National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts") to modernize its IT security equipment, including the replacement of its firewall and access to its private network. CNAM has installed two PA-5020 next-generation firewalls (in active/passive mode), performing the dual function of firewall and VPN. This new-generation equipment from Palo Alto Networks has enabled the creation of easy and user-friendly VPN access for users, plus the deployment of traffic filtering that is simpler to manage, more efficient and now based on the applications rather than on the standard variables of port type or IP address. The Palo Alto Networks VPN service uses two protocols, SSL and IPSEC Standard that enables easy connecting of remote sites. QUOTE
The migration to the new material was completed in only a few months, and CNAM has benefited from great support from Palo Alto Networks, as well as numerous online resources such as user discussion groups on the Palo Alto Networks website, and technical notes from previous implementation projects too. |
